Welcome to Kindergarten! Thank you to all of the parents that participated in our Back-to-School Night last Monday. It was a pleasure to meet you and I know we are going to have a great school year! Please let me know if you have any questions or need clarification regarding kindergarten. I am happy to help!
WOW! What a great group of kindergarteners. I enjoyed meeting all of the kinders in our class and appreciated all of their unique personalities. It will be a joy to work and get to know them better this year.
Our staggered start has proven to be a success! Getting one on one time with each kinder and getting to know them on their "first" day was priceless. With a small group, Mrs. Betros and I were able to address each kinder's needs, make observations and give assessments that will guide our teaching. Thank you for being flexible with the staggered start process.
As most of you know, we have children in kindergarten with severe peanut allergies. A letter from Mr. Rangel and Sandy Berns, our school nurse, was included in the Zach informational packet you received. Many suggestions are listed on the sheet regarding proper snacks to send in to school with your child. Peanut products are not allowed in the classroom, but are allowed in the lunchroom as we have a peanut free table. Thank you for your help in this matter.
Monday, August 24th, is the Kindergarten Parent Breakfast. I encourage you to drop your kinder off on the playground and go to the lunchroom for treats and conversation. This event provides an opportunity for you to meet other parents and have a real connection with Zach Elementary. Enjoy!
The week of August 24th, we will be focusing on dinosaurs (since our mascot is one), learning the rules of school, getting to know our classmates and having FUN! I hope you enjoy your week!
